Cary Skate Park
Cruising in the Hybrid I've often wanted to stop by the Cary Skate Park part of Cary Parks and Recreation , also known as Cary SK8 Park, by the far cooler than me. Today was that day! Headed down Maynard Road just before Harrison Ave on the right, near Goldbold Park. I need to tell you that the Cary Skate Park is not for the faint at heart. I often say as the mother of two girls that the Good Lord knew what he was doing by not giving me boys. The Cary Skate Park affirmed that statement!I approached and several mother were sitting nonchalantly at the picnic tables and their boys were racing up and down the VERY LARGE ominous looking ramps on their bikes. I was surprised, not a skate board in site that day. The boys fearlessly began at the top of the ramps, gained speed on the way down, "got air" while launching and went twisting and turning to a landing. It was between the launching and the landing that I stopped breathing. The moms sat watching like it was no big deal. I asked how they can watch. The said the don't! I guess its part of being a boy mom.
I tried to get "air pictures", not as easy as it looks. When the boys realized I was taking pictures they started showing off. It just made it worse, I kept holding my breath! I don't think I'll be visiting the Cary Skate Park much but it is a great alternative for those boys in your life that are bursting with energy. If you like the Cary Skate Park also try other parks offerings by the Cary Parks and Recreation, like the Cary Dog Park.
