The Glamor of Real Estate- Making Client's Beds

The Glamor of Real Estate- Making Client's Beds!

The glamor of real estate, making client's beds, and straightening up the house.   I'm an agent and a recent seller, so I have a greater understaning of what sellers experience while selling thier home.  It's difficult  to keep a home in "show condition" and live in it too.

The way you live in your home and the way you show your home are very different, especially with kids and pets.

Recently, I had sellers that needed to go out of town on a house hunting trip and leave the kids at home with a neighbor. I received a paniced call because the they had a showing that morning and the mom was certain her kids did not make beds and put away dishes before school.

I told her not to worry I would stop by and take care of what ever needed to be done to make the home perfect.  Yes I made the beds and put away dishes.

Is it part of my job?

You bet!  I was hired to sell the home and making sure the home is in "show condition" is a team effort.

Those purchasing are less tolerant of the little things in a "Buyer's Market."  The market is a beauty contest and a price war.  In the past two years I've seen buyers turned off by a home for little things when in years past they were just happy to get a chance to see in before it sold.

Things I've done for a showing in the past:
  • removed pets
  • swept the floor
  • cleaned the kitchen
  • removed holiday items
  • cleared away pine pollen
  • remove items left after moving
  • the list goes on.....
The glamor of real estate is often unseen but the results speak for themselves.
