Does your real estate agent work for you? It depends?Are you working in Cary NC with a Real Estate Agent and have a SIGNED Buyer's Agency Agreement?
If not, your real estate agent may be working for the SELLER and you don't even know it!Let's start form the beginning.
Most consumers do not truly understand how real estate agents work.
- All real estate agent work for someone at all times. They are either working for you the Buyer or the Sellers.
- If you DO NOT have a SIGNED Buyer's Agency Agreement they are working for the Seller as the Seller's Sub-Agent.
- Any confidential information you share with the real estate agent at this point can be shared with the Seller. It's like talking directly to the Seller yourself!
- You must move within 30 days and love this home. Do you think that information would give the Seller a negotiation edge?
- If you have a SIGNED Buyer's Agency Agreement with the real estate agent they work for you the Buyer.
- Any confidential information you share with them MUST be kept confidential. Your bargaining position is protected.
- Exception: NC Real Estate Commission allows for a "short-term" verbal Buyer's Agency Agreement. Short-term defined as no more than 3 days.
- Has your real
estate agent disclosed who they are working for the buyer or the seller?

- Have you told your real estate agent information that would give away your bargaining position?
- Where's a pen?
